Unfortunately, the saying “if it’s too good to be true, it usually is”. comes to mind. But, can Canary be blamed? They tried. The truth of the matter is they bit off more than they could chew by offering free cloud services for all and with the millions of clips being saved daily it became too expensive to maintain. This is why they choose to adapt and change. If they hadn’t, they probably would have gone out of business.
The way they went about introducing a new pricing structure could definitely be frowned upon. The change was introduced without warning and without the ability to be grandfathered in. This was upsetting for many owners due to the fact the choice and USP was the FREE cloud services. I’m amazed we haven’t seen cases go to court. If you purchased an item which is still within 12 months warranty. What about their customer promise? What about getting what you paid for?
For that reason and lack of respect for customer satisfaction, I personally wouldn’t purchase any item from Canary.
If you choose to still purchase Canary remember, I warned you. It’s like having an affair with a married woman and then being surprised when she cheats on you a few years later.
Well, the Canary has a hell of a lot to offer… Technically. Canary use several sensors to monitor your environment and learn how you live. This is extremely beneficial as it will learn your movements, your schedules, and auto set and unset, improving the quality of information provided as time goes on. An extremely smart way of securing your property as a large number of households don’t set their alarm when leaving home. Strange but true, Canary eliminates that by taking control. Due to the way it learns, expect a few false notifications in the first week, it will be worth it.
By combining all of these sensors you don’t only protect your home intelligently but improve your health by monitoring your environment.

FREE services are still available but a measly 1 day of recorded footage which is made up of 10-second chunks.
Great technology fitted within a small unit. Unfortunately, If you have a large house you will have to buy additional units to make sure you are covered. You can’t detect what you can’t see, hear or sense. (a lot of sensors)
Personally & professionally, I would stay away from this company following the way they treated their existing customer. It’s disgusting to sell a product promising the world only to take it away without warning. All good companies should be transparent & upfront to save surprise and upset.
